Mediterranean Feast - Toronto - November 26, 2011

Our Mediterranean Feast is on Saturday, November 26, 6 pm until whenever you want to go home. For only $25 ($15 for kids 12 & under), you will be treated to a fabulous Mediterranean dinner prepared under the supervision of chef Nabil Abi-Jaoude (instructor for the Toronto District School Board continuing ed course on Mediterranean cooking – his courses are always over-subscribed). As well, there will be some Ethiopian delicacies for you to sample. Cash bar (wine & beer; soft drinks free). The menu is paella (some with seafood, veggies & meat, some vegetarian) and Greek salad, plus veggie starters. This will be a chance to socialize with other CH supporters and have some fun.

Rebecca and her Ethiopian dance troupe will be there to entertain, accompanied by Ethiopian DJ music. We will also elect the CH Toronto Chapter Board for 2011-12.

Location: Church Hall at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, 151 Glenlake Avenue, Toronto M6P 1E8 (near the Keele subway station on Bloor).

Tickets: Please order, by Monday, November 21, through eilonwymorgan@rogers.com so that she can arrange for your ticket purchase and will know how many to cook for!

Sale of greeting cards made by Ethiopian girls: Ethiopian girls in need make amazing greeting cards from materials derived from parts of the banana plant. Each card sells for $2, $1 of which goes to the girls to fund their education, and $1 of which is split between Canadian Humanitarian and the girls’ charity, Children of Ethiopia Education Relief Fund. The cards will be on sale at this event.

We need volunteers to help with this event. If you can help by joining the meal preparation, serving, or clean-up team, send an email to iangreene0766@rogers.com.
