Our Mediterranean Feast is on Saturday, November 26, 6 pm until whenever you want to go home. This is a fund-raising event for Canadian Humanitarian. Everyone welcome!
For only $25 ($15 for kids 12 & under), you will be treated to a fabulous Mediterranean dinner prepared under the supervision of chef Nabil Abi-Jaoude (instructor for the Toronto District School Board continuing ed course on Mediterranean cooking – his courses are always over-subscribed). As well, there will be some Ethiopian delicacies for you to sample. Cash bar (wine & beer; soft drinks free). The menu is paella (some with seafood, veggies & meat, some vegetarian) and Greek salad, plus veggie starters. This will be a chance to socialize with other CH supporters and have some fun.
Rebecca and her Ethiopian dance troupe will be there to entertain, accompanied by Ethiopian DJ music. We will also elect the CH Toronto Chapter Board for 2011-12.
Location: Church Hall at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, 151 Glenlake Avenue, Toronto M6P 1E8 (near the Keele subway station on Bloor).
Tickets: Please order, by Monday, November 21, through eilonwymorgan@rogers.com or 416-763-0766 so that she can arrange for your ticket purchase and will know how many to cook for!
Sale of greeting cards made by Ethiopian girls: Ethiopian girls in need make amazing greeting cards from materials derived from parts of the banana plant. Each card sells for $2, $1 of which goes to the girls to fund their education, and $1 of which is split between Canadian Humanitarian and the girls’ charity, Children of Ethiopia Education Relief Fund. The cards will be on sale at this event.
We need volunteers to help with this event. If you can help by joining the meal preparation, serving, or clean-up team, send an email to iangreene0766@rogers.com.

A big thank you to everyone that made our event with General Dallaire such a great sucess last week. It was an amazing evening with great food (thanks Fikerte), at a great location (thanks Ward) and a wonderful speaker (thanks Robyn). We were all inspired by the evening and the work of Canadian Humanitarian. Next week we will announce how much was raised!
On September 25 the first annual Test of Humanity, mountian bike endurance race took place in Summerland B.C.. Over 180 racers participated in various events as the community came out in force to support the event. When the dust settled after all the racers were through the gate $40,000 dollars had been raised to support orphaned and vulnerable children in Ethiopia. A big thank you goes out to the Race Directors Nic and Shei Seaton and all the sponsors, especially the Bike Barn and Argo Road Maintenance. We would also like to thank all the Volunteers and Racers for making it such a great event!
Thank you to everoyne that came out to Canadian Humanitarian's 3rd Annual Medicine Hat Magic Dinner and Auction Fundraiser. Thinking globally and acting locally the attendees raised over $10,000 for our projects in Ethiopia. Thank you to all the volunteers and attendees.
Thank you to everyone that was able to attend Ethiopian New Years in Calgary. It was a great time. A big thanks to all the volunteers
